Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting The Joinery Coach at our factory for an engaging and insightful workshop designed to explore innovative production methods aimed at enhancing both quality and efficiency.

The workshop was an exciting opportunity for professional development and team building, bringing together members from across our business—including both our office and factory teams. With a shared goal of continuous improvement, everyone came into the session with open minds and a willingness to learn.
One of the highlights of the day was a hands-on team challenge: building Lego cabinets as quickly and accurately as possible. While it may sound like fun and games (and it was!), this activity was a cleverly designed simulation of real-world production environments. The task mirrored the key elements of our own workflows—precision, timing, coordination, and communication.
The teams were split into two groups, adding a healthy dose of competition to the mix. Each team approached the challenge differently, leading to some great discussions about efficiency, bottlenecks, and how even small changes in process can have a big impact on outcomes.

Beyond the fun and competitive spirit, the exercise opened up valuable conversations about process improvement. It helped uncover some of the challenges we might encounter on the factory floor and provided a platform to brainstorm potential solutions. From identifying opportunities for clearer communication to refining task allocation and timing, the session offered practical insights that we’re already beginning to explore in our day-to-day operations.

We’re incredibly grateful to The Joinery Coach for facilitating such a thought-provoking and productive session. It was a fantastic reminder that growth comes from collaboration, curiosity, and a willingness to rethink how we do things. We’re excited to continue applying what we learned as we refine our practices and aim for even higher standards in everything we do.
