Lee is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of MD Group, and oversees the operations of Melwood Joinery. He plays a pivotal role in connecting MD Group’s services to the commercial joinery sector.

How has your experience in the construction industry shaped Melwood’s direction?

My journey in the construction industry started in England, where I specialised in manufacturing custom traditional bars, which carried a high level of detail. This experience is reflected in Melwood today, as we excel in crafting high-quality bespoke products tailored to every project we take on.

At Melwood, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every project is unique, and we take pride in creating bespoke solutions tailored to our clients’ specific needs. My time in the industry taught me that attention to detail and client collaboration are what truly set exceptional work apart. We’ve built our reputation by listening closely to our clients, understanding their vision, and delivering high-quality results that exceed expectations.

What was the key reason behind Melwood’s rebranding to become part of the MD Group?

The rebrand was about more than just a new look, it was a strategic move to showcase the full scope of services we offer. While Melwood has always been known for its high-quality joinery work, many of our projects have involved a broader range of services, including carpentry, plastering, painting, and more. We wanted to emphasise the comprehensive range of services that we can deliver under the MD Group umbrella.

This change makes it clear that we can manage multiple aspects of a project under one roof, creating a seamless and integrated approach. It’s also a reflection of our commitment to growth and innovation. The industry is evolving, and we want to ensure we’re always adapting and expanding to meet our clients’ needs in the best possible way.

What values are most important to you when it comes to running Melwood?
